The M1 from Atenlab is a Multi-Probe OTA Measurement System that can be used from 680 to 6000 MHz. This test system can be used for cellular/ Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/LTE MIMO test functions and features 12 x SISO OTA dual-polarized hybrid, 4 x Wi-Fi and 4 x LTE MIMO dual-polarized hybrid antenna arrays. The size and design can be customized based on the customer requirement.

Electromagnetic compatibility – Requirements for household appliances, electric tools and similar apparatus – Part 1: Emission

CISPR 14-1:2020 specifies the requirements that apply to the emission of radio-frequency disturbances in the frequency range 9 kHz to 400 GHz from appliances, electric tools and similar apparatus as defined below, whether powered by AC or DC (including a battery). This document is applicable to the following equipment:
– household appliances or similar equipment;
– electric tools;
– similar apparatus.
Also included in the scope of this document are separate parts of the above mentioned equipment such as motors and switching devices (e.g. power or protective relays). However, no emission requirements apply to such separate parts, unless otherwise stated in this document. Products which incorporate radio transmit/receive functions are included in the scope of this document. Equipment under the scope of this document making use of IPT is also in the scope. Excluded from the scope of this document are:
– equipment for which all emission requirements in the radio-frequency range are explicitly formulated in other CISPR standards;
– equipment intended to be used only on a vehicle, ship or aircraft;
– equipment used only in industrial environment
– the effects of electromagnetic phenomena relating to the safety of the equipment.
Multifunction equipment may be required to comply with clauses in this and other standards. The details are given in 6.5. The emission requirements in this document are not intended to be applicable to the intentional transmissions from a radio transmitter as defined by the ITU including their spurious emissions. This seventh edition cancels and replaces the sixth edition published in 2016. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant changes with respect to the previous edition:
– extension of the frequency range for radiated measurements above 1 GHz;
– revision of general test conditions and addition of new specific test conditions (e.g. for robotic equipment);
– introduction of additional requirements for equipment making use of inductive power transfer technology;
– remove from the normative text any compliance requirement based on statistical evaluation;
– revision of clicks analysis, with particular relevance to the determination of the observation time and the application of the upper quartile method for different types of click analysers.

PCTEST acquires 5G test solutions from Rohde & Schwarz

PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, a part of the Element Materials Technology Group, has acquired 5G test solutions from Rohde & Schwarz for RF and RRM testing in the FR1 and FR2 frequency ranges.

Rohde & Schwarz said this acquisition includes R&S TS8980 RF conformance test system and the R&S ATS1800C CATR based OTA test chamber.

This investment will be instrumental in supporting Element’s Connected Technologies sector, with PCTEST’s capabilities offering wireless testing and certification services to device manufacturers.

The R&S TS8980 provides the maximum test case coverage and GCF/PTRCB validation status for LTE RF and RRM 3GPP conformance and network operator supplemental tests, Rohde & Schwarz said.

The R&S CMX500 radio communication tester will enable this comprehensive test solution to test 5G NR devices in both standalone and non-standalone (NSA), TDD and FDD modes, says Bryan Helmick, product manager, Rohde & Schwarz.

“With our acquisition of the latest Rohde & Schwarz 5G FR1 and FR2 test equipment, we are well equipped to become the leader in 5G and LTE testing along with the partnership with Rohde & Schwarz,” Randy Ortanez, CEO of PCTEST.

AMETEK announced that it has acquired NSI-MI Technologies for $230 million. NSI-MI Technologies is a leading provider of radio frequency and microwave test and measurement solutions and services with annual sales of approximately $90 million.

NSI-MI’s expertise in advanced radio frequency and microwave technologies allows them to provide complete test and measurement systems for niche applications across the aerospace, defense, automotive, wireless communications, and research markets. The company has a diverse portfolio of testing instrumentation, components and software, while also providing customers with turnkey anechoic and simulation chambers, and a broad set of aftermarket services.
