CGO-515 Radiated Comb Generator

Radiated EMC Reference Signal Source — 1 MHz to 1.5 GHz

The Com-Power CGO-515 is a battery-powered radiated comb generator and broadband EMC signal source covering 1 MHz to 1.5 GHz with user-selectable 1 MHz or 5 MHz step sizes — the most versatile radiated reference in this band. Switch to 1 MHz steps for high-resolution baseline data near the lower band edge, or switch to 5 MHz for fast sweeps with cleaner spectral lines on the receiver.

Pen-style cylindrical chassis — 7″ × 1.2″ (17.8 × 3 cm), 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg) — with two interchangeable monopoles (5-inch and 12-inch) and 18+ hours per charge of cordless operation for OATS, SAC, and FAC site validation.

Features

The Most Versatile Radiated Reference for Commercial EMC Labs

Broadband radiated EMC reference for fast pre-test validation of OATS, SAC, and FAC test sites between formal NSA calibrations — with dual step sizes to cover both high-resolution and fast-sweep use cases in a single instrument.

Radiated Reference Signal Source for OATS, SAC, and FAC

Broadband EMC reference source for quick verification of radiated emissions test sites between formal calibrations — catches failing preamps, broken cables, and oxidized connectors before they corrupt compliance data.

Wide Frequency Range: 1 MHz to 1.5 GHz

Covers the full commercial radiated test band used by FCC Part 15, CISPR 32 / EN 55032, and most commercial EMC standards in a single instrument.

User-Selectable 1 MHz or 5 MHz Step Size

Choose 1 MHz for maximum spectral resolution near the lower band edge, or switch to 5 MHz for sparser, faster sweeps and easier identification of individual harmonics in the upper band — both modes available in a single unit.

Pen-Style Cylindrical Chassis

Compact 7″ × 1.2″ (17.8 × 3 cm) cylindrical body with circular base, 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg) — uniform omnidirectional radiation in all directions; easily mounted on tripods, antenna positioners, or turntables.

Two Interchangeable Monopole Antennas (5-inch and 12-inch)

Both monopoles are supplied — use the 12-inch for the lower portion of the band and the 5-inch for optimized radiation toward the upper end of the 1 MHz to 1.5 GHz range.

Battery Operation — 18+ Hours per Charge

Internal 6 V / 1 Ah NiMH battery eliminates external power cabling that could disturb the radiated signal pattern. Charger output: 6 VDC (unregulated) at 500 mA.

Automatic Low-Battery Shut-Off

Battery monitoring circuit shuts the unit down before output level degrades — protects baseline data integrity by preventing reference measurements from being collected at reduced amplitude.

Stable, Repeatable RF Output

20 ppm frequency stability, ±0.1 dB amplitude stability, and less than 1 dB time stability over 12 months — ensures day-to-day baseline comparisons reflect real changes in the test setup, not drift in the source.

External LED Indicators

Battery Low and Power On LEDs confirm operating status at a glance during chamber walk-throughs — no need to interrupt a test session to verify the unit is active.

Insertion Loss and Inter-Site Comparison Source

Broadband output also serves as a stable reference for cable, attenuator, and filter insertion loss measurements, as well as inter-site comparisons and chamber correlation studies.

NIST-Traceable Calibration

Individually NIST-traceable calibrated; calibration data and certificate ship with each unit. ISO 17025 accredited calibration available on request for laboratories requiring full accreditation chain documentation.

Three-Year Standard Warranty

Three-year standard warranty backed by manufacturer support.
