CGC-255E Conducted Comb Generator
LISN Reference Signal Source — 50 kHz to 115 MHz
The Com-Power CGC-255E is a battery-powered conducted comb generator and LISN reference signal source covering 50 kHz to 115 MHz — ideal for CISPR 22 / CISPR 32 / EN 55032 Class A and Class B conducted emissions verification.
With user-selectable 50 kHz or 250 kHz step sizes and a NEMA 15-P plug that connects directly to the LISN EUT power port, the CGC-255E verifies your entire conducted measurement chain in minutes between formal calibrations.
Features
Built for CISPR 32 / EN 55032 Conducted Emissions Verification
Conducted reference signal source for LISN-based test setups — verifies the entire conducted emissions measurement chain (LISN, cabling, transient limiter, EMI receiver) in minutes between formal calibrations.
Frequency Range: 50 kHz to 115 MHz
Covers the CISPR 16, CISPR 32 / EN 55032, and FCC Part 15 conducted emissions bands with margin above and below the 150 kHz to 30 MHz core range.
User-Selectable 50 kHz or 250 kHz Step Size
Choose 50 kHz for high-resolution baseline data near the lower band edge or 250 kHz for sparser, faster sweeps and easier identification of individual harmonics throughout the band.
Direct Plug-In to LISN EUT Power Port
Standard NEMA 15-P type connector plugs directly into the EUT power socket on the LISN; adapters allow connection to other socket types worldwide.
Simulates an EUT Generating Conducted Noise
Replicates the operating conditions of a real device, allowing verification of measurement accuracy under realistic load conditions for LISN impedance, transient limiter, and EMI receiver.
Quick LISN Verification Before High-Stakes Testing
Plug into each LISN EUT port and confirm baseline within 1 dB at multiple frequencies in minutes — catches LISN drift, cable failures, and connector corrosion immediately.
Battery Operation: 18+ Hours per Charge
Internal 6 V / 1 Ah NiMH battery eliminates external power leads that could couple noise into the conducted measurement. Charger output: 6 VDC (unregulated) at 500 mA.
Stable, Repeatable RF Output
50 ppm frequency stability, ±0.1 dB amplitude stability, and less than 1 dB time stability over 12 months — allows direct comparison of measurements taken months apart with confidence.
Compact Form Factor
5 × 2.2 × 2.2″ (13.2 × 5.9 × 5.9 cm), 1 lb (0.45 kg) — plug-and-go form factor that integrates with the LISN setup without occupying bench space.
External LED Indicators
Battery Low and Power On LEDs confirm operating status at a glance during routine verification — no need to interrupt a test session to verify the unit is active.
Useful for Production Component Evaluation
Broadband output is also useful for spot-checking cable shields, EMI filters, and ferrite suppressors without expensive VNA equipment.
NIST-Traceable Calibration
Calibration data and certificate ship with each unit. ISO 17025 accredited calibration is available on request for laboratories requiring full accreditation chain documentation.
Three-Year Standard Warranty
Three-year standard warranty backed by manufacturer support.
