CGO-520 Radiated Comb Generator

Radiated EMC Reference Signal Source — 20 MHz to 4.5 GHz

The Com-Power CGO-520 is a battery-powered radiated comb generator and broadband EMC reference signal source covering 20 MHz to 4.5 GHz in fixed 20 MHz steps — the highest-frequency comb generator with detachable antennas in the lineup. Designed for site validation above 1 GHz where traditional comb generators run out of range, it covers 5G FR1 sub-6 GHz, WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular, and automotive CISPR 25 wireless module compliance bands.

A circular chassis ground plane ensures uniform omnidirectional radiation regardless of turntable orientation. Two detachable monopoles (2-inch and 12-inch) are supplied, with 18+ hours per charge of battery operation — critical above 1 GHz where external cabling would disturb the radiated pattern.

Features

Built for 5G FR1 and Microwave Band Radiated EMC Verification

Broadband radiated EMC reference for fast pre-test validation of OATS, SAC, and FAC test sites at frequencies above 1 GHz — extending site checks into 5G FR1, WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular, and automotive CISPR 25 wireless compliance bands.

Radiated Reference Signal Source for OATS, SAC, and FAC

Broadband EMC reference for fast pre-test validation of radiated emissions test sites at frequencies above 1 GHz — catches failing microwave preamps, high-frequency cable failures, and connector degradation before they corrupt compliance data.

Wide Frequency Range: 20 MHz to 4.5 GHz

Spans the upper-frequency portion of FCC Part 15, CISPR 32 Class B, RTCA DO-160 radiated bands, and into 5G FR1 territory — the highest-frequency comb generator with detachable antennas in the Com-Power lineup.

20 MHz Step Size — Well-Spaced Reference Markers

Produces fundamentals and harmonics every 20 MHz across the full 4.5 GHz span — well-spaced reference markers for spectrum analyzer monitoring without overwhelming displays at high resolution bandwidths.

Circular Base for Uniform Omnidirectional Radiation

The circular chassis acts as a ground plane producing a uniform radiation pattern in the horizontal plane — consistent radiated output regardless of orientation on the turntable.

Two Interchangeable Detachable Monopole Antennas (2-inch and 12-inch)

Both monopoles are supplied — use the 12-inch for the lower portion of the band and the 2-inch for optimized radiation toward the upper end of the 20 MHz to 4.5 GHz range.

Compact Cylindrical Chassis

7″ × 1″ (17.8 × 2.5 cm), 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg) — easily mounted on tripods or placed directly on turntables for site verification without occupying significant setup space.

Battery Operation — 18+ Hours per Charge

Internal 6 V / 1 Ah NiMH battery eliminates external power cabling that could disturb the radiated signal pattern — especially critical above 1 GHz where any nearby cable can perturb the radiated field. Charger output: 6 VDC (unregulated) at 500 mA.

Automatic Low-Battery Shut-Off

Battery monitoring circuit shuts the unit down before output level degrades — protects baseline data integrity by preventing reference measurements from being collected at reduced amplitude.

Stable, Repeatable RF Output

20 ppm frequency stability, ±0.1 dB amplitude stability, and less than 1 dB time stability over 12 months — ensures day-to-day baseline comparisons reflect real changes in the test setup, not drift in the source.

External LED Indicators

Battery Low and Power On LEDs confirm operating status at a glance during chamber walk-throughs — no need to interrupt a test session to verify the unit is active.

NIST-Traceable Calibration

Individually NIST-traceable calibrated; calibration data and certificate ship with each unit. ISO 17025 accredited calibration available on request for laboratories requiring full accreditation chain documentation.

Three-Year Standard Warranty

Three-year standard warranty backed by manufacturer support.
