CGO-51000 Comb Generator
mmWave Radiated Reference Signal Source — 1 GHz to 40 GHz
The Com-Power CGO-51000 is a battery-powered millimeter-wave comb generator and broadband EMC reference signal source covering 1 GHz to 40 GHz in 1 GHz steps — the highest-frequency comb generator in the Com-Power lineup. Designed for daily site verification at mmWave frequencies where traditional calibration methods are slow and expensive, it catches connector contamination, cable degradation, and preamp faults before invalid data accumulates.
An integral stub antenna on a circular chassis ground plane produces a uniform omnidirectional radiation pattern supporting both vertical and horizontal polarization. 25 ppm frequency stability keeps comb teeth aligned to receiver bin centers across the full 40 GHz span over weeks of repeated checks.
Features
Purpose-Built for mmWave EMC Site Verification
The highest-frequency comb generator in the Com-Power lineup — purpose-built for daily verification of mmWave EMC test sites where traditional calibration methods are too slow and expensive for routine use.
mmWave Radiated Reference Source for OATS, SAC, and FAC
The only practical daily reference source for site checks at 26 GHz, 28 GHz, and beyond — verifies the full mmWave measurement chain between formal NSA calibrations without slow and expensive traditional methods.
1 GHz to 40 GHz Frequency Range
Covers the 5G FR2 bands (24, 28, 37, 39 GHz), automotive radar (24 GHz, 38 GHz, and partial 76–81 GHz coverage), satellite communications, and CISPR 32 / FCC Part 15 emissions testing through 40 GHz.
1 GHz Step Size — 40 Well-Separated Reference Markers
Produces fundamentals and harmonics every 1 GHz across the full 40 GHz span — 40 clearly separated markers that are easy to identify on spectrum analyzers without harmonic crowding.
25 ppm Frequency Stability
Tight frequency tolerance ensures the comb teeth stay aligned to receiver bin centers across the full 40 GHz span over weeks of repeated daily checks — critical at millimeter-wave frequencies where bin width is narrow.
Built-In Stub Antenna with Circular Chassis Ground Plane
Integral stub-type antenna with protective cover, mounted on a circular chassis that produces a uniform omnidirectional radiation pattern in the horizontal plane — no external antenna required.
Dual Polarization Support
Can be used in both vertical and horizontal polarizations for comprehensive site verification matching the orientation of the receive antenna — covers both polarization axes in a single unit.
Catches Faults Missed by Annual NSA Calibration
At mmWave frequencies, even slight contamination or connector wear causes severe signal degradation. Daily checks detect cable, antenna, or preamp faults before invalid data accumulates between annual calibration events.
Battery Operation — 18+ Hours per Charge
Internal 6 V / 1 Ah NiMH battery eliminates external power cabling that could perturb sensitive mmWave radiated fields. Charger output: 6 VDC (unregulated) at 500 mA.
Compact Circular Chassis
7″ × 1″ (17.8 × 2.5 cm), 2.5 lbs (1.1 kg) — ideal for placement on turntables in compact mmWave test ranges without occupying bench or chamber space.
Stable RF Output
±0.1 dB amplitude stability and less than 1 dB time stability over 12 months allow direct day-to-day baseline comparison even at high frequencies.
Automatic Low-Battery Shut-Off and LED Indicators
Battery Low and Power On LEDs confirm operating status at a glance. Auto shutdown protects baseline data integrity by preventing measurements from being collected at reduced output amplitude.
NIST-Traceable Calibration
Calibration data and certificate ship with each unit. ISO 17025 accredited calibration is available on request for laboratories requiring full accreditation chain documentation.
Three-Year Standard Warranty
Three-year standard warranty backed by manufacturer support.
